North Carolina Central University[edit | edit source]

North Carolina Central University (NCCU or NC Central) is a state-supported liberal arts institution, is a public, historically black university in Durham, North Carolina. Founded by Dr. James E. Shepard in affiliation with the Chautauqua movement in 1909, it was supported by private funds from both Northern and Southern philanthropists. It was made part of the state system in 1923, when it first received state funding and was renamed as Durham State Normal School. It added graduate classes in arts and sciences and professional schools in law and library science in the late 1930s and 1940s.

In 1969 the legislature designated this as a regional university and renamed it as North Carolina Central University. It has been part of the University of North Carolina system since 1972, and offers programs at the baccalaureate, master's, professional and doctoral levels. The university is a member-school of Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

Misc. Information[edit | edit source]

  • The current coach is a rumored worshiper of the church or 1212
  • While the team historically shows up in the first half of the game and performs well, they often party too hard during halftime or just forget to show up during the second half of the game.
  • One of the premier aggressive and passing offenses in the league. The team is know to attempt to make up for their lack of defense with high octane and high scoring games. Almost always going for 4th down and refusing to kick the ball.
  • One of the few schools that rarely runs the ball, they throw often and throw far.
  • Season 3 they decided to almost exclusively use onside kicks. Coach Juniped has since claimed that was a mistake and plans to integrate normal kickoffs into the playbook in the future.
